Yenny’s family and small business was being extorted. After receiving threats for having sold the business, they were left with no choice but to flee Columbia. Thanks to her participation in the UNHCR Graduation Model, Yenny has started a family food business in Quito.

“We are currently part of the Graduation Model, which is the starting point of our entrepreneurial venture: Baking jellies, flans, stuffed potatoes and patties; and so far, it’s going great.”

Yenny, her husband and two daughters feel save and grateful to have been welcomed and accepted in their new home. About 85% of the refugee population in Ecuador are Colombian nationals.
